Flags of Touhou: Reisen Udongein Inaba

This is my design of a flag for Reisen Udongein Inaba, the fifth stage boss of Touhou 8: Imperishable Night and a playable character in Touhou 15: Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom. She is a lunar rabbit who fled the moon during the Lunar War, and as such is (possibly jokingly) considered a traitor by her former allies. Reisen possesses the ability to manipulate wavelengths, which she uses to induce insanity in her targets.

Reisen (鈴仙) is written with the characters for "bell" and "hermit/sage". Udongein (優曇華院) can be translated as "house of plantain flowers", and ends with the suffix 院, denoting nobility. Inaba (イナバ) is written in katakana, and is the name bestowed to her by Kaguya, who uses it to refer to any rabbit.

1. Violet and red represent ultraviolet and infrared, referring to Reisen's ability to manipulate wavelengths. White represents the moon, and black the vacuum of space. The design of the flag brings to mind the flag of Kiribati. 

2. The sigil at the center is an intersection of two eyes, for her ability to induce madness through them, hence the name of her theme, "Lunatic Eyes ~ Invisible Full Moon". It also suggests the crosshair, to represent her general association with firearms. Reisen's danmaku are shaped like bullets, and she is depicted in the fighting games as firing them from a finger-gun. 

3. Red and white stripes for Reisen's rabbit ears. Five of them for her debut role as a stage 5 boss. They're made wavy, again to represent Reisen's ability to manipulate wavelengths.

It's been a long time since I've designed a flag for this series. Coming back to it is a strange experience. Might have to adjust the colors on this later.
